Learning to dance is a process that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilites, so unless you are planning to be on "ABC Dancing With The Stars", you should just try to relax, have some fun and enjoy the ride!

The thing to remember is that eveyone is not GOING to the same place, as people dance for many different reasons and have very different goals.

If you know WHAT you want to accomplish, you have a much better chance of accomplishing it.

Ballroom Dancing Styles and Dances

If you have not studied the history of ballroom dancing, you may not be aware that there are two completely different styles being taught in studios today.

Confusion sometimes arises when purchasing online ballroom dance lessons or instructional DVDs and videos, as the style is not always clearly marked.

I would suggest that you familiarize yourself a bit with the ballroom dancing styles and the dances so that you can at least tell the difference between them.

Learning to dance is a lot of fun with or without a partner and most dance teachers are happy to accommodate both singles and couples in their classes.

The important thing is for each dancer to develop into a " good dance partner ", and that has nothing to do with technical expertice.
